The Care Collective under the auspices of Sri Raghavapuram Sabhayogam has undertaken the care of Gowri Antharjanam of Nileshwaram based a news report in Kerala Kaumudi on 1 August.

Sri Raghavapuram Sabhayogam is a centuries-old Brahmin organisation based in Cheruthazham in Kannur district.

The Sabhayogam functionaries visited Antharjanam to understand her needs and offered her the required assistance. The Sabhayogam will bear her living and medical expenses. She will also be provided the means to work if she wishes to. The help will be arranged through her relatives and local well-wishers.

The Sabhayogam members observed that Kerala society should reclaim its moral responsibility to accept the elderly and shun the trend of abandoning them at old-age homes.
