Temples in Kerala are not public places of worship for Hindus !

Temples in Kerala are not public places of worship, but temples owned by the temple authorities (Urals). The North Kerala Temple Urala Sabha commented on the meeting held on 27-11-2019 at the Sriraghavapuram Sabha meeting Brahmaswamy Moth.

Sriraghavapuram Sabha Yogam President Brahmashree Pacha Mangalam Sreedharan Namboothiri Deepa Prajvalana presided over the meeting which was presided over by President Kunji Madhavan Kanakathidam and welcomed by the Treasurer Ramadas.

Hindu temples are not places of worship but residences of diety, where the rituals of the temple are primarily based on the appearance, will, temple rules, rituals and traditions of the deity.
(Not for offerings)
The temple authorities or temple-goers, who are inextricably linked with the basic order of the temple (equal to mother and child), have full authority and right to observe such temple rituals in the former order.

Just as the temple priests have the power to make final decisions on temple matters, so the temple authorities have the power to make decisions on temple administration and other matters pertaining to the temple.
Neither the government nor the politicians have any right to interfere in the affairs of the temple.

The temple order is shaped according to the appearance and imagery of the temples and idols, of which the meditative appearance and concept of the idol are of paramount importance, and the personality and meditative form of the idol is enshrined and enshrined, and the temple has its own set of rituals and rules for the completeness of the imaginary form. The meeting strongly demanded that the temple be preserved for its survival – temples with different deities, expressions and rituals are not public places or public places of worship as they are different from each other and therefore temples should not be included in the scope of the Hindu Public Places of Worship Act, 1965.

The temple land is the land owned by the god himself, and only the temple villagers have the authority to deal with the land intended for temple ceremonies, rituals and alms giving. The meeting decided to seek legal advice to join the party in the case of Subramanyaswamy in the Supreme Court for the dissolution of the Devaswom Boards.

The meeting opined that the legislation for the administration of the temple at Sabarimala should be for the formation of a governing body headed by the Pandalam Palace, the temple villagers, and that it should be done only with the knowledge and consent of the villagers as per the will of the deity.

Joe. Secretary Santosh Nambiar moderated the meeting and Chief Co-ordinator Brahmashree Periyamana Hari Namboothiri expressed his gratitude – the meeting adjourned at 4 pm.
