Former Governor of Mizoram Shri. Kummanam Rajasekaran visited Sri Raghavapuram Sabhayogam at Chettur Brahmaswam Nalukett. He came to see the Yajurveda Patasala where the meeting was being conducted and to interact with the students, teachers, and organizers.
Mr. Kummanam expressed his wish that Sabhayogam should start a Vedic school in Aranmula. He opined that giving importance to Vedic rituals like Murajapam in all temples would help in maintaining the tradition of reciting the Vedas. He offered all help to the great project of Vedic preservation of the congregation.
The system of reciting the Vedas, which has been included in UNESCO’s World Intangible Heritage List, is known to very few people today and less than fifty students study it, so it is certain that if society does not come forward to preserve it, it will be irretrievably lost.
