The Sree Raghavapuram Sabha Yogam health and social welfare department provided onakit and kotivastra to 200 deserving people of Anakal, Kawa and Parachaththi villages of Palakkad district at Malampuzha Ayyappanpota cultural center.
Malampuzha 3rd Ward Member Mrs. Lila Sashi inaugurated the event by giving first kit to Mrs. Amminiyamma. Sree Raghavapuram Sabha Yogam Health and Social Welfare Department Chairman Mr. Unnikrishnan Namboothiri Puthur presided. National award winner for social service Kumari Priya Ramakrishnan (President, Janani) delivered the keynote address at the event organized in association with Janani Educational & Cultural Charitable Society.
This year’s Onam celebration of the assembly, which strives to maintain the traditions, became meaningful as the children and mothers of the tribal groups gathered together with folk songs and dances.
The Sabhayogam team returned from Malampuzha with the benefit of being able to deliver daily use items, vegetables and handloom clothes to 200 deserving people.
Preliminary discussions were held to start self-initiatives centered on the villages to bring the tribal groups into the mainstream by preserving their culture and identity.
Mrs. EV Komalam (President, Women’s Voice, Palakkad), Shri. Khader Moiteen (Vimukti District Committee Member, Palakkad), Mrs. Sumaiya PH ( Secretary Women’s Voice, Palakkad), Shri. Tharananallur Ramanunny Namboothiripad, Shri. Mekkad Sankaranarayanan Namboothiri, Mr. Maniprasad Perikamana, Kumari Bhagyashree Vadakillam, Kumari Bhavana Vadakillam and others spoke.
Janani Secretary Smt. Jisa Jomon gave the welcome speech and the secretary of the IT department of Sabha Yogam, Cherukudal Unnikrishnan Namboothiri, gave the vote of thanks.
