PRACHODINI is conceptualized as a Social Enterprise for mechanized production of notebooks using purchased raw materials.
- There is good market potential because stationery items like notebooks, record books, notepads etc are always in demand.
- CSR fund and donation from philanthropists is used to find fixed capital.
- Sales will be with the help of NGOs like Blood Donors Kerala, service organizations like NSS, school societies and retail outlets.
- Job opportunity for the differently abled in production units – skilled and unskilled labour required.
- Employment generation for the differently abled in sales units also – outlets in different districts in Kerala
- Students will get quality products at reasonable rate, avoiding exploitation by the mediators.
Our Vision for the Differently Abled
The Differently Abled ( Divyangins) are struggling to lead a decent life due to physical and mental disabilities. Mostly their talents, innovative ideas and products are recognized only in a very limited circle.
Problems they face:
- No regular income.
- No learning platforms to improve their born talents, creativity, artistic & athletic abilities.
- No opportunity to upgrade their skills with product development.
- No easily reachable market for selling the quality products.
Strategy to bring the Differently Abled to the mainstream:
It is not practical to provide long term financial support to a differently abled person and his/her family. We need to create an environment for them to work , get a regular income and self-sustain.

The Road Ahead - Plans for Divyangins
Short Term
- Create a Section 8 company PRACHODANI FOUNDATION so that non-profit business can be taken up for Divyangins.
- Job to 10 Divyangins in production & sales in a span of 3 years in PRACHODANI unit.
- At least 1 outlet in every district providing employment to the Differently Abled.
- Work agreement with special schools and buds institutes in all districts in Kerala
- Coordinate with all NGOs working for the Differently Abled.
Long Term
- Vocational units employing 10 persons in each district of Kerala.
- Fragility friendly library, game zone, sports academy, park etc as part of the vocational/ rehabilitation units
- Permanent exhibition center and art gallery for the products of Divyangins.
- Musical band to nurture the talents of the Divyangins and reach out to all sections of the society.
- Medical support wing and motivational training team to help overcome the mental and physical
Details of PRACHODINI Project
- Expected Sales Volume – One Lakh College Notebooks (160 pages, 18cm X 24cm, 58 GSM)
- Expected Sales – Rs. 40 Lakh
- Fixed Capital – Rs. 4.75 Lakh (Machinery and other assets) – Raised by the Trust.
- Working Capital – Rs. 32.7 Lakh – To be raised via loan.
- Non-profit Social Enterprise. Nominal returns re-invested in the project itself.
- Business plan for PRACHODINI project is as per MSME Government of India guidelines
