On the occasion of World Environment day, the state-wide medicinal garden project of Sree Raghavapuram Sabhayogam was inaugurated. Project aims at utilizing temple devaswom lands for large scale cultivation of medicinal herbs. The project was launched by planting 108 tree saplings at the Sabhayogam Kanisseri Kavu Devaswom site.
Former director of Oushadhi Corporation Sri. KV Uthaman (IFS) formally inaugurated the project. Subsequently 108 Beach almond (Baheda) saplings were planted by the students of Ramapadam yajurveda patasala and Chettur yajurveda patasala. Environmental activist Sri. Bhaskaran Vellur, Writer Sri. Pudayoor Jayanarayanan, Yajurveda Acharyas Amallur Sangamesan Namboodiri and Pazhangapparambu Sreenath Namboodiri lead the tree planting.
The function was presided over by HH former Rawalji of Badrinath P. Sreedharan Namboodiri, President of Sree Raghavapuram Sabhayogam. Sri. Sankaran Namboodiri, trusty – Kannisseri temple, lighted the holy lamp. Chief priest of Taliparamba Rajarajeswara Temple Sri. Edavalathu Pudayoor Kuberan Namboodiripad blessed the function. Sri. Kunjimadhavan Kanakathidam (President, All Kerala Temple Urala Sabha) and Hari Thekkillam (MD, Oushadhamitra Farmer Producer Company) greeted the occasion.
The agro-environmental projects to be implemented this year by the Sabhayogam and it’s wing Oushadhamitra Farmer Producer Company with the aid of Goverment and CSR Funds were discussed and planned.
Sri. Vethiramana Vishnu Namboothiri, Head – Sabhayogam Dept of Agriculture & Environment welcomed the gathering, while Sri. Sudheesh Mankulam, Member of the Board proposed vote of thanks.
