Saketham: Housing Project for the Underprivileged Launched in Madhur by Kasaragod District Committee

The official commencement of ‘Saketham’, a housing project initiated by the Sreeraghavapuram Sabhayogam Kasaragod District Committee, took place today in Madhur. The foundation stone laying ceremony (Kuttiyadikkal) for the houses of Indira (Mogral Puthur) and Sasikala (Meepuguri) was successfully completed.
Event Highlights
The ceremony was held in the presence of the State President, Brahmasree Kara Bhattathiri Srikanth Bhattathiri. Representing the Kasaragod District Committee, Smt. Bindu Marangad (District Secretary), Smt. Sreekala Teacher (Pattena Deshasamiti), Sri Varadan Madamana (Kanhangad Deshasamiti), and Sri Krishnan Namboothiri (Trikaripur Deshasamiti) participated in the event.
The rituals were led by Sri Krishnappa Achari of Madhur, with the spiritual blessings of the Edneer Mathadhipathi, Srimad Sachidananda Bharathi Swamiji.
Local Participation and Organizing Committee
An organizing committee led by Sri Murali N. and Smt. Geetha Balan Manjal has taken charge of supervising the construction with great enthusiasm. Local volunteers and activists played an active role in making the necessary arrangements for the ceremony.
Land Donation
The houses are being constructed near the Madhur Temple. The 6 cents of land required for the project was generously donated by Sri Shivashankar M.G. and Dr. Nagaraja C.
Future Plans
Expansion Meeting: An organizing committee expansion meeting is scheduled for February 25 to finalize the building plans, estimates, and brochures.
Fundraising: House-to-house fundraising campaigns will begin in the last week of February, coordinating all six Deshasamitis in the district.

With the blessings of the Divine, the foundation rituals have been completed auspiciously. Our goal is to complete the construction and rehabilitate these two families before the onset of the monsoon. We request the blessings and support of all well-wishers for this mission.
