Sree Raghavapuram Sabha Yogam Reaffirms Sankara Tradition at the Historic Thirunavaya Mahamagha Mahotsavam

Members of Sree Raghavapuram Sabha Yogam participated in a one-day pilgrimage to the Kerala Mahamagha Mahotsavam (Kerala Kumbh Mela) at Thirunavaya, Malappuram district, on 30.01.2026, organised by the Sankara Madoms, in which Sree Raghavapuram Sabha Yogam took part in association with the Sankara Madom tradition. The group, comprising 24 devotees, was led by the President of the Sabha Yogam, Brahmasri. Sreekanth Karabhattathiri.

The journey commenced from Sree Raghavapuram Temple, Cheruthazham, after seeking the blessings of Sree Ram. En route, the group visited Thrikkaikatt Brahmaswom Madom, where the President performed Vechu Namaskaram before the Idayil Munchira Madom Mooppil Swamiyar, Srimad Narayana Brahmananda Theertha Swami, followed by lunch arranged at the Madom for the devotees. The pilgrims also visited Thirunavaya Brahmaswom Madom before proceeding to Bharathapuzha river where the devotees took the holy dip and  participated in the sacred rituals at the banks of the Bharathapuzha (Nila) River in the presence of Swamiyars of the four Sankara Madoms and were fortunate to chant the Sahasranama Japam led by the President in front of all the Sankara Madom Swamiyars.

The Mahamagha Mahotsavam, a historic spiritual event not conducted for over 250 years, was revived this year under the initiative and guidance of the Maha Mandaleshwar, making the participation especially significant. Through this pilgrimage, Sree Raghavapuram Sabha Yogam reaffirmed its continuing dharmic activities and its close, historic association with the Sankara Parambara Swamiyars.
